Tonmind IP Speaker Firmware has been upgraded to V2.8.1 on Oct.28, 2021. Herewith we introduce how you can upgrade firmware by your side. There are two upgrade methods. 1. Tonmind IP Speaker software IPTool has been upgraded to latest version. It's available to be downloaded in our website via Support > Download Center > Software Upgraded version: IPToolCS20_20211119_173221 Improvement: • Optimize the setting layout. • Solve the issue that the RTP local audio source can not be played. • Modify the position of prompt tone in play list. There are 3 ways to connect Tonmind IP Speakers, SIP Paging Gateway. • Tonmind IPTool: Support Multicast Streaming • Tonmind PA System Lite: Support Multicast Streams, SIP (Server software) • SIP PBX server Compared to PA System Lite, IPTool is much more simple regarding function and operation. It depends on customer's need that if he need SIP or RTP Multicast. We plan to upgrade IPTool to RTP Audio Manager in the near future, adding function of zoning. IPTool is mainly for speaker configuration, while RTP Audio Manager will more focused on LAN cases (e.g. super market, stores) solution. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), also called IP telephony, is a method and group of technologies for the delivery of voice communications and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol (IP) networks, such as the Internet. VoIP allows you to make voice calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line. VoIP services convert your voice into a digital signal that goes over the Internet. They transmit media streams using special media delivery protocols that encode audio and video with audio codecs and video codecs. Various codecs optimize the media stream based on application requirements and network bandwidth.  Some implementations rely on narrowband and compressed speech, while others support high-fidelity stereo codecs.
